Nate Smith's 80/20 Blog is recommended viewing, regardless of playing level.

There are breakdowns of some very interesting grooves and concepts, most often accompanied by a will done video clip demonstrating his concept.

Let me say right off the bat I totally love his concepts on time and practicing. Anyone who can do transcriptions and immediately apply them in a blog lesson/video in an totally accessible fashion gets my vote. He has a knack for getting to the essentials and avoiding the chops trap we can fall into. The man has a seriously quick mind -

I really love his brush segments. For those of us who learned brushes primarily from books, these clips cuts through a lot of misconceptions and again, goes right to the nuts and bolts needed. Even us bitter old guys can get a few well deserved tips. Plus, I've discovered a bunch of drummers I didn't know existed, and have found some really enjoyable music to boot.

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting with Nate recently on his trip to Austin, and he carved out a spot his frenetic weekend to chat, and show me a thing or three.  Even though he's not a Bopworks player yet, he is an OK guy. :). And then, he was off again like the wind...

Do yourself a favor and check it out the Youtube stuff- it's free...
